New NFPA 2013 Upgrade Kits for Legacy Scott SCBA

Scott Safety announced the introduction of the Air-Pak SCBA NFPA 2013 Compliant Upgrade Kit.

Applicable to any 2002 or 2007 edition Air-Pak SCBA, the upgrade kit allows fire departments using legacy model                      SCOTT

Air-Pak SCBA to upgrade to the most current edition of the NFPA 1981 and 1982 standards.

The Air-Pak SCBA NFPA 2013 Compliant Upgrade

Kit provides a lower cost alternative to purchasing new SCBA, while also allowing fire departments to take advantage of newer technology enhancements.  In addition, the upgrade kits give fire departments the ability to maximize the service life of existing equipment, thus reducing the frequency of SCBA replacement.

As part of the upgrade, customers can choose to add Scott Safety’s newer technology enhancements including the Pak-Tracker™ Firefighter Locator or SEMS II Air Management System.  Although not required by NFPA standards, these enhancements contribute to improving situational awareness and firefighter safety.  Customers will also have the option to upgrade the operating pressure of the Air-Pak SCBA to 5500 psig, allowing them to take advantage of the benefits that this Scott Safety “industry first” provides.  Along with these enhancements, the AV-3000 HT face piece provides improved environment protection as compliant to the NFPA 1981, 2013 edition standard.

The future of firefighting is about to move one step closer to

sc

reality.  Scott Safety is announcing the launch of Scott Sight,

a new in-mask thermal intelligence system designed to improve firefighter safety

by providing the real-time benefits of thermal imaging in plain sight of all firefighters.

Ever since thermal imagers were introduced to the fire service, firefighters have asked for it to be inside the SCBA mask and the wait is over!  Advancements in both thermal imaging and micro-display technology have reduced the size and power requirements of the components to the point that an inside-the-mask thermal image is now a reality.  Scott Sight integrates a lightweight, in-mask display with a miniature, head-mounted and hands-free thermal camera that keeps the thermal image within the firefighter’s field of view at all times.
